Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
There is nothing good in any one of us save the grace of the Lord Jesus. It is in the blood of Calvary that we wash our garments white. We are complete in Christ, in His robe, in His righteousness. He shelters us in His everlasting arms. We are blessed by God as we realize that it is His power and His alone that can cleanse the leper, heal the sick and raise the dead. It is His grace alone that can make a heart of stone melt like butter.
He has borne our grief and carried our sorrows
Our lives are filled with human ills – sicknesses, sorrows, pains, and trials of life. Jesus took them on himself. He was afflicted for all of them. He undertook the work on Calvary of removing them. By His blood we have been delivered and promised comfort from on high.
It was for our sins that our Lord Jesus suffered. We have all sinned, and have come short of the glory of God. Jesus’ atonement was made for our sins, and this is the only way of salvation. Our sins were the thorns in Christ’s head, the nails in his hands and feet, the spear in his side. He was delivered to death for our offenses. By his sufferings he purchased for us – salvation by the Grace of God. We may well endure sufferings, but He has taught us to esteem all things but loss for Him, and to love him who has first loved us. He will bear all for us now as He did over 2000 years ago, always reminding us that He loves us now as He did then, and will take our sorrow and replace it with His joy.
Jesus ransomed our souls with His sacrifice on the cross. Even when this life is at its dimmest and we lay at death’s door, we are assured that our soul will rise to meet our Savior, for He died that we might have the privilege to be His sons and daughters, adopted by the blood that cleanses all sin. It does not get any better than that.
