Are you Blue? – Let God’s Blessings Overtake You

Let blessings overtake you Dueteronomy 28Are you blue? Do you find yourself struggling at times;  burdened down, worried, frustrated, or angry? Does it sometimes seem that no matter what you do, you just cant get ahead or get things right?

Galatians 3:3 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing  in Christ?

What Paul is saying here is  are we so foolish to believe that what began in us by means of the Spirit, we can try to finish ourselves  by means of the flesh? God’s grace is alive in us. He is all-powerful. He delivers. He rescues. He saves. He blesses. In all things you must step aside and give the reins of your life over to God. We read in God’s word, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” Proverbs 19:21. We may make our own plans, set our own course and directions for our lives, and soon discover that we have made a mistake. Not to worry, as long as we rely on God, He will still make sure that things turn out for our good and His glory. God will always bless us with His goodness even when we misstep. We may get off course, but if we submit to His direction, He is always on right on target .

Deuteronomy 28:1-2  “If you will keep God first place, and walk in His ways, all these blessings will overtake you”.

The Lord is showing us here that no matter how fast we run, or if we run the wrong way, run in the wrong direction that He will catch up to us, overtake us and set our lives in order. No matter how fast, how long and hard we run, going sometimes every which-a-way we will not be able to outrun the blessings that God has for our lives.  We must learn to trust Him, and rely on Him as we struggle through life. Our outlooks will begin to change, and our attitudes will begin to change as we begin to realize the our Heavenly Father enjoys surprising us with His goodness. As we begin to relax we will happily say in our spirit when hard times fall upon us, “I can’t wait to see what God is going to do!”

As more and more tragedies turn into victories in Christ we will begin to realize that the best is yet to come. Living our lives waiting on God to surprise us with His blessings will enlarge our dreams as God accomplishes more than we could ever imagine or ask for God is about to super size your dreams and surprise you by accomplishing in our lives more than we could ever ask, think, hope or wish for.

God wants to bless you on a continuous basis, loving you and blessing your life. We have instances in our lives where we are blessed by wonderful surprises in our daily lives from friends loved ones. In many instances these surprises can bring us much happiness and joy. Surprises that uplift our lives can make us feel special, and can bring much delight to us as we find ourselves the recipient of surprising change for our lives., God can and will surprise us with His mercy, blessings and goodness; sometimes when we least expect it. When we stop and take the time to appreciate when God works in our lives surprising us with blessings. We can find comfort and joy as His grace guides our lives.

We all encounter setbacks in life. Many times we struggle to see the hand of God in the situation. Sometimes is hard to keep the faith, and trust God’s wisdom and direction for our life. Today what seems to be a setback, you may soon realize is a step forward. Sometimes these ills that befall us are actually  blessings in disguise. If we trust in God, we will find ourselves  overwhelmed by His Grace and mercy, and overjoyed by what we first perceived to be a bad thing, become a wonderful experience. The Lord will take what seems to be a distraction in my life and turned it 180 degrees around where we experiencing a great blessing. What a joy; What a blessing; What a surprise; What a God!

See, I am doing a new thing!” Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:19

God is always wanting to bless our lives and surprise us with new things to enrich our experience in Him. We need to be conscious of the fact that when things seem that they are at the very worst in our lives: when it seems that all is lost and we are defeated; God has already taking actions on our behalf to surprise us with a new hope and a great future.

God is always waiting to bring joy and blessings to our lives. He wants us to stop, take the time to look and actually see and be aware of what He is accomplishing in our lives. The problem is that we many times see things from the human perspective rather than from the eyes of God. Therein lies the problem, it is in the way we perceive the situation that we are in. We only see the dire circumstances and fear a negative outcome. We need to realize that God is always at work on our behalf to  bless us with a positive outcome.

  1. Powerful and so true. God bless you, Darrell. ♪♫♪♫♪♫

  2. “…We only see the dire circumstances…”

We all have tough situations from time to time, but I try to believe each of these are opportunities for God to show Himself as a big, big God. I will keep believing this until God fails. So far, so good! Thanks.

  3. This is a beautiful post. Thank you Darrel. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the calld according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

  4. very freeing. thank you. how about some good news for discerning how not to be caught up in a cultish movement and how to arm ones self to prevent this in self and others. AND how to investigate to be sure one does not drink the kool aid aka jones and Koresh followers

  5. Thank you for this message. I get very caught up in my daily stresses, work, family, commuting, marriage and just life itself that I forget to think of Him. I will try to make a conscious effort to reflect on my savior everyday.

  6. Thank you Darrell, a wonderful reassuring message, I was thinking how mankind has used Colour to express negative feelings and I have done so myself, like Blue means we are depressed and green jealous, yellow a coward, purple mentally ill, red anger etc. God gave the world Colour and everything He made was very good. Blue to me now is the Heavens or sky, yellow the sun and the Light of The Son, green the grass and the trees and the Aura around Jesus, purple Royalty, our position in Christ Jesus, red the Blood of Christ that covers then washes us and the Rainbow above the Royal Heavenly Throne.

One of the first Scriptures God gave me was not to trust in my own understanding but sadly I did for many years and in other peoples too but now I go to Him, having asked for and received His wisdom and empowered by the Holy Spirit, Jesus our only Teacher is teaching me all things, what He tells me He confirms in Scripture but I’m also blessed as others share from their heart and I have been blessed by your messages Darrell as I have with others who stand up for God’s Truth.

We can’t earn our Salvation it is a gift but we will show we have it as The Holy Spirit empowers us to walk as Jesus walked when we choose to Trust and obey Him and as you shared Darrell we seek His direction not our own. In my encounter with suffering and hardship, I remember God has not willingly afflicted me but He will work it all out for good in my Life as you said.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith hebideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

Christian Love from us both – Anne.

  7. Thank you, I was at the end of the thread. Did god really say? Do I stand still, walk away, continue to stand against the impossible mountainous situations suffocating our lives and business. Or as my brothers and sisters in faith have suggested giving up for its not gods will. The faith that I live does not understand giving up based on circumstance happen chance. My faith says stand still and see the salvation of the lord, walk by faith not by sight. Otherwise he would just say time to move it on out on to
other and better things. Does god ignore our request for direction and crush us with debilitating circumstances. Not my friend Jesus. Anyways thank you so much for this encouraging word. God bless you.
    Linda

  8. Thank you so much for this piece. Its has indeed blessed my life. Just what I needed to hear… ” I can’t wait to see what God will do’
