How many reading this would like to see the hand of God in your life, literally? How would you like for God to show you kindness? How would you like to see everything that has gone wrong, suddenly be made right? How would you like to be happy? I am going to show you—in His Word—that it is possible, probable and is His desire for you.
What if all the worry, stress and tears you are feeling would simply vanish and go away? What if you were able to see God in the act of saving you, with your own eyes? How would you like God to actually reveal Himself to you? How would you like to learn from God, personally teaching you? I am going to show you—in His Word—that it is possible, probable and is His desire for you.
What if you were able to suddenly find God’s will for your life, find your way out of debt and trouble, and actually hear His voice guiding you? There is a way. I am going to show you—in His Word—that it is possible, probable and is His desire for you.
But the Lord wants to show you kindness. He greatly desires to show you compassion. The Lord is the God who makes everything right again. So those people who trust Him are truly happy.
You are God’s people. Do not weep anymore. The Lord hears your cry for help. And when He hears, He will answer. He will come to your aid. You have suffered much in the past. But the Lord is your Teacher. He will not hide Himself from you. You will see with your own eyes what He will do to save you.
The Lord is like your guide. You might begin to wander off the road to the one side or to the other side. But then you will hear His voice close behind you: “This is the right road. Walk down this road.” You’ll scrap your expensive and fashionable god-images. You’ll throw them in the trash as garbage, saying “Good riddance!”
This passage in Isaiah is very revealing for believers. We see the result of a person’s heart that has been purified by throwing out the things in life we allow to be competing with God. I call these things—“God Comps.”
God Comps are the TV, internet, cars, books, friends, sports…. the list goes on and on. God Comps are anything that replaces God as the central focus, attention and devotion in our lives. God Comps cause us to neglect God by taking away our time to love Him. God Comps become idols when we turn our desires and affection towards them, instead of God.
His Word tells us to get rid of them and to throw them out like trash. Now, I am not suggesting that you grab your computer and TV and throw them in the garbage. But, I am saying to regard them as items that are garbage in light of His Glory and Grace. Let Him be the first, the middle, and the last in your life.
If things, items, conditions, relationships, alliances, work or anything else surpasses your love and desire for God, I pray you will follow the instructions of Isaiah and “You’ll throw them in the trash as so much garbage, saying “Good riddance”.
When you have the attitude that God Comps are mere garbage compared to the things of our Lord, and say good-by to them, God will lay a tremendous blessing upon you as a believer. It is in His Word. He said it–believe it–it is true!
In Isaiah 30:18-22, we read about the real desire and heart that God has for us. Remember all the things I mentioned at the beginning that were possible, probable and His desire for us? In his Word, we read of His promises to us. It is His desire to give us this and more, if we put Him first and foremost in our lives and lay aside all other things.
Know that you can see the hand of God in your life and experience His kindness. Your life will turn around and everything that has gone wrong will begin to go right. You will find happiness as your worries, stress and fears, vanish. God will reveal Himself to you and you will know Him.
Know that no matter how bad your situation is, whether you are in debt or trouble, God promises to rescue you. It is in His Word…..it is possible, probable, and His desire for you. Throw out the garbage in your life that you have put before God and let Him show you the power of His promise as He reveals Himself to you and acts on your behalf to change your life for the better.
Give your life as a gift to God without any garbage. Confess your sins and He will forgive you and wash you in the Blood of the Lamb.
Mark 12:30 reveals the most important commandment of all:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Jesus is telling us to love God—WITH ALL OUR HEARTS. When this is the ruling principle in the soul, there is a disposition to every other duty. Loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, engages us to everything by which He will be pleased—and we will see the words of Isaiah become alive in our lives.
