Let God Surprise You

Deuteronomy 28, “If we will keep God first place, if we will walk in His ways, all these blessings will overtake us.”

The Lord is showing us here that no matter how fast we run, or if we run the wrong way, run in the wrong direction that He will catch up to us, overtake us and set our lives in order. No matter how fast, how long and hard we run, going sometimes every which-a-way we will not be able to outrun the the blessings that God has for our lives. The word “overtake” is translated to mean,“to catch by surprise.” God wants to bless us, and He is continuously good to His children. God want to surprise you; He wants you to be amazed at the blessings He lays upon your life. When we begin to trust Him, and rely on Him as we sometimes struggle through life we will begin to relax as we learn to wait upon the Lord. Our outlooks will begin to change, and our attitudes will begin to change as we begin to realize the our Heavenly Father enjoys surprising us with His goodness. As we begin to relax we will happily say in our spirit when hard times fall upon us, “I can’t wait to see what God is going to do!” . As more and more tragedies turn into victories in Christ we will begin to realize that the best is yet to come. Living our lives waiting on God to surprise us with His blessings will enlarge our dreams as God accomplishes more than we could ever imagine or ask for God is about to super size your dreams and surprise you by accomplishing in our lives more than we could ever ask, think, hope or wish for.

God wants to surprise you on a continuous basis, loving you and blessing your life. We have instances in our lives where we are blessed by wonderful surprises in our daily lives from friends loved ones. In many instances these surprises can bring us much happiness and joy. Surprises that uplift our lives can make us feel special, and can bring much delight to us as we find ourselves the recipient of surprising change for our lives., God can and will surprise us with His mercy, blessings and goodness; sometimes when we least expect it. When we stop and take the time to appreciate when God works in our lives surprising us with blessings,we can find comfort and joy as His grace guides our lives.

I have recently been the recipient of such a surprise in my life. Recently I encountered what I felt was a setback in my life, and I struggled to see the hand of God in the situation. But as always, I took it on the chin and kept the faith trusting God in His wisdom and direction for my life. Day after day, week after week my trust was steadfast in God. Today what seemed to be a setback, I now realize was a step forward, as God has shown me that it was actually a blessing in disguise. To put it modestly, I am more than pleasantly surprised, and thankful to God for His goodness to me. I am now overwhelmed by His Grace and mercy, and overjoyed by what I at first believed to be a bad thing has become a wonderful experience. The Lord took what seemed to be a distraction in my life and turned it 180 degrees around where I am experiencing a great blessing. What a joy; What a blessing; What a surprise; What a God!

“See, I am doing a new thing!” Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:19

God is always wanting to bless our lives and surprise us with new things to enrich our experience in Him. We need to be conscious of the fact that when things seem that they are at the very worst in our lives: when it seems that all is lost and we are defeated; God has already taking actions on our behalf to surprise us with a new hope and a great future.

God is always waiting to surprise us. We read here in Isaiah “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” He wants us to stop, take the time to look and actually see and be aware of what He is accomplishing in our lives. The problem is that we many times see things from the human perspective rather than from the eyes of God. Therein lies the problem, it is in the way we perceive the situation that we are in. We only see the dire circumstances and fear a negative outcome. We need to realize that God is always at work on our behalf to surprise us with a positive outcome.

Isaiah tells us that the Lord will wait, that he may be gracious unto you” (Isaiah 30:18).

The key word in this piece of scripture to digest and put to flight is the word “wait.” We must realize that no matter how desperate our situation may seem at the time, God has His own outline, plan, and schedule to work a surprise in our lives.

We read in God’s word, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” Proverbs 19:21. We may make our own plans, set our own course and directions for our lives, and soon discover that we have made a mistake. Not to worry, as long as we rely on God, He will still make sure that things turn out for our good and His glory.

God will always surprise us with His goodness even when we misstep. We may get off course, but His direction is always on right on target . Finding our way through life is impossible with His guidance. This is the plan of God for our life. We read in John“Without Me you can do nothing”.

Learn to trust Him. Learn to relax, everything is going to be alright. Let God surprise you with tremendous blessings, that you might life a life blessed beyond your wildest dreams as you enjoy Heavenly surprises from on hig

  1. Amen Bro. Darrell That is a great lesson on waiting on God and yet sometimes it is so hard to wait. We are an impatient people. We want everything right now, but like the song says They that wait upon the Lord…..Shall renew their strength….They shall mount up on wings as Eagles…..They shall run and not grow weary…..They shall walk and not faint…..Teach us Lord…Teach us Lord to wait. I love to receive surprises from God for I know He will never let me down as long as I stand on this promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. Be blessed in the Mighty Name Of Jesus.
