We are not simply physical beings in a material world, we are God’s own handy work. With His hands He touched us,:He created us, and He breathed life into us. We are eternal beings made from His own hands. We are sons and daughters of the living God. I want you to say with me,”I know I am because, “Jesus touched me”, and made me His own. The truth is living a happy fulfilled life, is dependent on understanding who we are in Christ.
God has touched me – He has transformed my life. The way sunlight touches my skin and makes me feel warm, God touches my heart warming my spirit and soul.
We go through life and we never hear what the Spirit of God is saying to us. We are so busy with our lives, that we cannot hear God; many times, our words do not reflect God in our lives. We are bound, our hearts are not free to express with our voice the richness and goodness of God, because we cannot hear His voice with everything going on around us. God gently takes us by the hand, and walks us away from all the distractions in our life. He does this so He can be alone and intimate with us. Jesus touched a deaf man’s ears, and immediately he could hear and speak plainly. God wants to do the same with you and I. He wants to be alone with us, intimate. He wants to touch our spiritual ears so that we can hear our Masters voice. And if we can hear His voice, our mouths will speak forth of His goodness, salvation and mercy. As a result our lives and the lives of others will be changed by His touch, as we become His beacons of hope to a lost and dying world.
Matthew 17:7 Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”
There are times in our lives when we become afraid and our lives seem to fall out from beneath us. We crumble underneath the load, weight, fear and strain of finances, marriage, children, job, faith . . . the list goes on and. How many times in our lives, do we simply need for God to reach down, and with His gentle touch say, “Get up, Don’t be afraid”? With His touch, we can rise. When we get up all the things that were weighing us down, all the fears, all the worry, all the stress and anxiety are gone. When we look up, we see nothing but Him. We all need that reassuring touch from God. We need to hear the words “Don’t be afraid” spoken to us by our Redeemer, followed by His gentle touch upon us, giving us the assurance that all is well.
God will cleanse you with His touch.
Luke 5:12-16 A man who was covered with leprosy saw Jesus, and fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. Jesus said “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
We live in a dog eat dog, anxious, stressful, and hurtful society. Do you suffer from a spiritual sickness? It is easy to become overcome with sickness in our own flesh, living as though we are spiritual lepers, being less than our God wants us to be. But God wants to reach out and cleanse us. He is willing, just ask Him, “Touch me Lord”, and you will be clean. Your body, mind and spirit will be cleansed and renewed by His touch.
God will bring you healing, liberty and life with His touch.
Shackled by a heavy burden, Neath a load of guilt and shame
Then the hand of Jesus touched me, And now I am no longer the same
Since I met this blessed Savior, Since He cleansed and made me whole
I will never cease to praise Him, I’ll shout it while eternity rolls
He touched me, oh He touched me, And oh the joy that floods my soul
Something happened and now I know, He touched me and made me whole

It is the hand of faith that touches Jesus. The story from which the focus verse is derived is about a woman with the issue of blood twelve years who have sought the attention of various medical practitioners, to no avail; but having heard of the fame of Jesus, she decided that he was too much of a public figure, and being unclean she would definitely not want to defile him.
He was “the One” people were talking so much about. She knew it without being told. As she trudged along, she recalled all the good things she’d heard about Him, and for the first time in a long time, hope sprang up in her heart. Because of His touch, blind people could now see; deaf people could hear; lame people could walk. As she turned these things over and over again in her mind, she actually began to expect something good would happen for her. She’d heard this man healed people free of charge, and He was healing everyone who came to Him. That was a good thing, because after 12 years of seeking cures for the terminal illness that racked her frail body, she was penniless.
