Mending Your Life – Healing Broken Dreams and Wounded Hearts – Inspirational Scriptures

Jesus gives me peace matthew 11 28The goodness of Christ will sooth your heart in your time of affliction or distress, relieve your spirit, and deliver healing to your heart. The mercy of our Lord will give you a feeling of well-being, and contentment. God’s grace will bring you solace in your time of grief.

Matthew 11:28-30 If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give to you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. My yoke is easy to bear, and my burden is light.

The grace of God in Christ Jesus invites you come to Him to find rest for your soul. When you come to Christ with all our guilt and burdens, believe and know that He has the power to comfort you. If you are broken and undone, lacking peace and comfort, all you have to do is to come to Jesus Christ. He will accept you with all your sin and imperfections. In Christ, and Christ alone, you will find rest for your soul.

Many things in this world promise to bring you comfort but none can deliver like the grace of God. Powerful is your Redeemer’s mercy. Why would you seek peace, comfort and rest from any other source? He will deliver you from all your pain, guilt, fear, and sorrow.

The peace of God is not of this world. In grace we are offered a peace that the world cannot pursue, nor can it obtain.  The things that we sometimes long for, such as personal pleasure, fame, and wealth are many times not the pursuits of our Lord. We may find greatness and notoriety in this life, but only within the will of God will we have peace within our success. Success outside God’s will leave us with worry, anxiety, and remorse. What this world has to offer cannot satisfy our soul, our spirit, and it cannot give us the peace that our soul needs.

Many times those in the world can praise you with hollow, empty and flattering words that are not sincere. The world may not be sincere but Jesus is. There are systems of philosophy and false religions. They will profess to give you peace, but they cannot take away your sin; and they cannot reconcile your soul to God.

Only the peace that is given by an intimate relationship with Christ can give you the peace that meets all the needs of your soul. He will heal all your open wounds, broken dreams and calm your troubled heart. His peace is not affected by any external changes, and His peace will abide with you in this world and in the world to come. How precious it is in a world of anxiety and care, to have the peace that surpasses all human understanding. Take comfort in the knowledge that the world can neither give nor take the divine peace away!

God will take that which is undone in your life and mend it together. The grace of God in Christ Jesus will give you a peace that will heal your pain, comfort your sorrow and deliver you from your trials. The peace of Christ Jesus will never leave you; His peace will always be with you. Surrender all your anger, fears, and temptations to the Lord – and when you choose the wrong path and lost sight of your purpose in the journey of life, allow Him to carry you through the rumbling tides and roaring waves, and bring you safely to shore.

  1. Praises be to God for His Grace through Jesus Christ. He is so good and is sovereign. He gives the only peace there is. Just being in His presence in prayer or reading His Word or singing praises or basking in nature, he gives us His assurance that no matter what is happening in our lives, He is in control and He will carry us. Amen!

    Thank you for this reminder.

  6. Darrell, I touched on the topic of the world’s idea of success versus that which the Lord desires for us in my post today as well. I would rather be known only to God than have all the notoriety of the world. Lovely post and excellent reminder of God’s infinite grace and mercy in our everyday lives.

  7. I am so thankful for God’s unending and Unmerited grace. He is more than enough!

  8. Wonderful post, Darrell. Seems we both had thoughts about the ocean tides of life: “… and when you choose the wrong path and lost sight of your purpose in the journey of life, allow Him to carry you through the rumbling tides and roaring waves, and bring you safely to shore.” He is so wonderful to carry us through! thanks

  10. Hi Darrell,

Thank The Lord for His amazing grace! Great grace was on the church in times of persecution. His grace will always be sufficient!

I want to say that of the blogs I have read, I don’t recall any of them giving credit to the writer thereof. You are the only one I know of that does it. I think it is very sweet of you to do so. By blessing the different blogs, I believe The Lord blesses yours also. “What goes around comes around.” By casting your bread upon the water, it returns to you.

  11. Matthew 11:28-30 is one of my favourite passages of Scripture. It’s something that we need to be reminded of constantly. Our nature is to do stuff. Whether in the world or in the activities of the church, we busy ourselves with doing the work. I love that God’s invitation still stands: Come to me and rest. Thanks for the encouraging post!

  12. Hi Darrell, earlier I had requested your concurrence for me to post this beautiful , blog for posting on my blog today, Sunday 2 March. It won’t be posted till you concur. Thanks.

  13. Reblogged this on gdhayesblog and commented:
This is truth eloquently spoken. In reading it, I am again reminded with whom I need to turn for peace, comfort and strength. I find it is a journey; I anticipate it won’t be until I dwell in His presence that I will have fully arrived. For now I seek to learn how better to trust in and draw closer to Him.

  14. AMEN.. I love this posting. It was in my brokenness that I developed an intimate relationship with God and He revealed more than our eyes can see. Thanks for sharing this. Many blessings to you, Darrell.

  15. It is so True Darrell that Jesus will accept us even though we have sinned greatly and have also ignored Him and His Truth for many years but we remember He does not accept sin, we are to repent and this means we choose not to sin any longer and we seek to do good by the empowering of The Holy Spirit, putting our flesh to death.

We remember what Jesus said to the woman caught in Adultery…

John 8:11 And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.

No He did not condemn her but He told her to go and sin no more and we know with the right choices and the empowering of The Holy Spirit, this is not only possible but is a reality when we are Born again of God’s seed and no Temptation will be greater than we can bear even as we aim as Paul did for the crown of righteousness.

Being perfected in God’s Love we walk as Jesus did in The Spirit of Truth and Righteousness, His are big shoes to fill, but Jesus walks in them with us.

1John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he “cannot ” go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 8: 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
