A gunman opened fire Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut, killing 26 people — 20 of them small children.
I am a father . . I am dad.
I am a grandfather . . . I am papa.
My heart goes out to all those who have suffered such a tragic loss from such a senseless, cowardly act. I know how much my children and grandchildren mean to me and how much I dearly love them, and I can’t entertain even the thought of losing any one of them. I can’t imagine what could cause someone can do this. It’s pure evil that someone would do this to God’s most precious creation, a child.
Matthew 19:14 – Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Mine too… I am still stunned by how someone can do something so heartless and cruel. One of our grandsons is 5 and in kindergarden. So many in our world told seem to be sick and/or evil. The fallenness of man and sin is definitely running rampant, isn’t it.
But, in the end… God wins. And today those precious little ones from CT are being comforted in the arms of Jesus. How do we comfort or help their families? I keep thinking of the Amish school and the families of the Amish children who were killed and how they all came together in love and forgiveness. I pray that for the families of these precious children and adults who died in this tragedy yesterday.
